Another game, another disappointment. Age of Conan started with great potential, as many often do, but the developers failed to deliver. Patches were not only slow to roll out, but when they did release they tended to break more things and fix very little. Can anyone say Vanguard 2? Many of us have moved to play some of our older favorite mmos (EQ1, FFXI, DAoC, etc).

On the bright side, there are two new and upcoming mmos that we are holding out for. Aion Online and Guildwars 2 both have potential since they come from developers that have repeatedly released stable games without severe technical issues. That alone should provide both games with a much higher chance of success over recent mmo failures. Aion is releasing in another country first (Korea), which allows them even more time to polish content and provide patches to fix bugs without us paying to beta test yet another MMO. The developers of Guildwars created one of the best PvP based games to date, and I look forward to seeing what they do to bring those ideas and concepts into a full blown mmorpg. With that said, feel free to read up on Aion and Guildwars 2. Aion will be the next MMO Provoked moves to, and should be the first to release of the two.
